Hey guys..my pup does not chew his kibble he just kind of swallows it? Last night he threw up a little and it was full kibbles that were not chewed.
I heard for raw people feed frozen to help chew but what to do for kibble??

Is he kind of inhaling the kibble really fast? My friend's Frenchie did that, and then she'd throw up. He was using a ball in the bowl, but the bowl was too big. When I babysat her, I started using a smaller bowl and she started to chew the kibble. No more throwing up. :) She also ate significantly slower.

I think you could try to soak the kibble to make it really soft. So you would not have problem with him throwing up.And when it's really soft it's takes longer for them to eat it
But also you need to teach him to chew, I would probably have chicken breast ( or quarter) frozen and just hold it in my hand, while he is trying to take a piece of it

It doesn't have to do with the kibble providing it's quality kibble...It can be from an upset stomach ( all dogs ingest things they shouldn't such as sticks (bark), dirt, etc...) kibble breaks down fairly quickly in the gut....every dog I have had has thrown up kibble that hasn't been fully digested....if it is a constant problem, go to a reputable vet.

Magic NEVER chews, he horks it down, sometimes coughs a mouthfull out and then scarfs them down off the floor. I swear he is the fastest food horker down in the world. BUT, somedays i cover his crumblies with water just to bug him, cause then he has to bob for them and cannot hork down mouthfulls. heehee

If your dog eats too fast, you can put a large (smooth) river rock in the bowl. One that would take up some space but not fill the whole bowl. That way the dog will have to eat around the rock and won't scarf down food so fast.

It worked for my neighbors Lab and I'll probably do it soon for my pup.

Dillon rarely chews either he just vacuums it up. He sometimes hacks up a few pieces also. Good to hear others do that as well as I was starting to wonder why he did that.
